The Leadership Team
Wellness Care & Support is led by a team of leaders, who have a combined experience of over 50 years within the health and social care sector. They have a wide and varied range of skills, qualifications, training, and experience. This includes experience in management, childcare, healthcare, and education. They have a vast experience in working for settings that have been regulated either by the Care Quality Commission or OFSTED and are extremely familiar with the framework of both regulatory bodies. This range of expertise allows Wellness Care & Support to offer a diverse service, which can meet all the needs of the service users in their care.
Workforce Development
Wellness Care & Support has a dedicated workforce, who is committed to supporting the individuals placed within the organisation. All team members are employed following a robust vetting and screening process, in line with the safer recruitment legislation. Following the successful completion of the recruitment process, all team members complete an induction programme and six month probation period, which involves an on-going assessment of their competence within the role of care assistant.
Wellness Care & Support has an extensive learning and development programme, which includes external face to face training on positive behaviour management techniques and physical intervention. Training programmes are accessible and include training that reflects the specialist services that Wellness Care & Support offers, including additional training around autism awareness, deprivation of liberty, knife crime awareness, mental health awareness and child criminal exploitation (also known as CCE or County Lines). In addition to this, team members are also trained in mandatory elements such as fire safety, preventing radicalisation, food hygiene, health and safety, safeguarding children, manual handling, medication handling and first aid.
All team members employed by Wellness Care & Support are required to complete the nationally recognised Care Certificate, as best practice. This training course includes units on safeguarding children, privacy, and dignity, working in a person-centred way and communication skills, in addition to ten other units relating to health and social care. Wellness Care & Support has developed an advanced training programme, which allows Wellness Care & Support to develop and build up its team’s skills around the individual needs of the service user, so that the team can provide the best possible level of care and support.
In addition to developing the previously mentioned learning and development programme, the senior leadership team at Wellness Care & Support have endeavoured to recruit staff with a diverse range of experience, training, and qualifications to support the overall development of the service and the quality of support, that the service users receive. Wellness Care & Support endeavours to recruit team members from a diverse range of backgrounds, to enable the service users to have appropriate and supportive roles models and for the workforce to reflect wider society.
